One of the best ways to strengthen your own presentation and facilitation skills

One of the best ways to strengthen your own presentation and facilitation skills is to observe and learn from others’. You will be responsible for identifying 1-2 presenters and or facilitators that will give you the opportunity to observe their styles. Since this is an online course, you will research for videos that demonstrate presentation and or facilitation skills. It could be a reading, a lecture, a seminar, speech or presentation.
. There will be a Moodle forum open from Week 1 – 5 to submit for approval. Videos can be
found on: YouTube, TedTalk, LinkedIn Learning, and SHRM. You must use a minimum of 2 videos to a maximum of 4 videos to meet the objectives of this assignment.
You will write a 6-page paper that addresses the following:
• Brief summary of the purpose of the event including date, location, speaker, etc.
• Was this an example of presentation or facilitation?
• The speaker’s ability to demonstrate concepts that we have discussed in class or have been addressed in the textbooks
• The speaker’s effectiveness to analyze and connect with the audience – how did the speaker make you feel?
• The speaker’s ability to engage the audience and keep their attention.
• Advice to the speaker – if you were to sit and engage in a coaching conversation with the speaker, what would you focus on and why? Where would you advise the speaker to focus on improving for the future and why? Where would you applaud the strengths of the speaker and why?
• Compare and contrast the two speakers – which did you prefer and why?
• How can you improve your own presentation/facilitation skills based on what you observed? What are some ‘tricks of the trade’ that you will ‘borrow’ from the presenter/facilitator?
