Effectively evaluating health care programs requires analytical, interpretive, and conceptual skills complemented by rigorous and scholarly objectivity. In this assignment, you will demonstrate your skills to identify the components of an existing health program.
Identify a health or health care program. The program can be one that is part of a larger organization, or it can be a stand-alone program. You may use a program in the organization where you work or one of your choosing elsewhere.
Develop a proposal for a small-scale evaluation of your selected program, including best practices for selecting an evaluation model, theory, and design.
Write a 1,100-word overview of your selected topic for the Health Care Program Evaluation Proposal that includes the following elements in outline format:
Program title – List the program title.
Program goal – Identify the goal of the program.
Program purpose – Explain the purpose of the program.
Program scope – Explain the scope of the program.
Program audience – Describe the audience for the program.
Program background – Describe the background of the program.
Rationale and best practices – Provide a rationale for developing this evaluation plan, including best practices for selecting an evaluation model, theory, and design.
Include a cover page indicating the name of the program.
Format the overview and list of references according to APA guidelines.
Note: To format your overview, review the samples available within the Moreno Medical Center virtual organization. You can find the sample outlines by clicking on the Administration tab and selecting Director of Research. Then select one of the programs listed (see the programs outlined with a red box in the screenshot below) to see a sample outline. You will need to include the Rationale and Best Practices section even though this section is not shown in the samples from Moreno Medical Center.
